The Pradet Mining Museum traces the history of copper mining, which began 168 years ago by Piedmontese miners. After 60 years of activity and 25,000 tonnes extracted, the site closed, then was reborn in 1994 thanks to the initiative of local authorities and enthusiasts.
Today, equipped with a helmet, visitors can explore the old galleries, which remain intact, and discover the history of copper, mining techniques and the lives of miners in the 19th century. The experience is enriched by mineralogical and geological exhibitions and a temporary exhibition (‘The Mediterranean, Garden of Pirates’), before enjoying the natural setting surrounding the mine.
