Naturalist outing : Port-Cros, pearl of the Golden Isles
With Vincent Blondel, discover a lush island where nature reigns supreme. Accompanied by your naturalist guide, explore a biotope that has been preserved since it was declared an integral National Park off the coast of Hyères.
This day trip plunges you into the heart of the historic Port-Cros Park, a sanctuary for wild and protected areas. You'll discover the site in depth through its fauna, flora, geology and ecology, as well as the special relationship between this preserved nature and man.
The tour begins in the village and takes you along the botanical trail to the foothills of L'Estissac. You'll then reach La Palud beach for a picnic and a refreshing break in its crystal-clear waters, if you wish.
Next, head for the Vallon de Notre-Dame to climb up to the Fort de la Vigie, which offers a breathtaking view of the islet of La Gabinière.
The descent is via the vallon de la Solitude. Each stage is an opportunity to observe and discuss the natural and cultural wealth of this exceptional area. Your guide will also tell you all about the island's history and the crucial missions of the national park.
You'll have the chance to get to know a multitude of insects and arachnids, with over 200 species on the island. During the walk, you'll also observe birds and, at the seaside, you'll take the time to study marine species such as posidonia and their vital role in balancing the marine ecosystem.
A visit labeled Esprit parc national.
